Despite the gloomy weather predictions, this year's Tournament was only troubled by a couple of light showers and was mostly blessed with bright sun and clouds. The Women's Division was closely contested with Harvard Sports, West London and AIST Blue all on equal points after the round robin phase. After consulting the ILF rule book, local team West London faced AIST Blue in the Championship decider. West London, who finished second in this year's South Premier Division, took the game strongly to AIST and ran out winners with a 8-2 scoreline. The trophy was presented to the winning captain by Jan Kiddle, President of the Southern Counties Women's Lacrosse Association. The Men's Division was dominated by Harvard Sports and Wales who won all of their round robin games until the final scheduled fixture which put them against each other. Following discussion, it was agreed by both teams to move the allocated time for the round robin game to the Championship play-off to allow both teams to enjoy a full length game. And what a game it proved to be! Harvard Sports who were largely composed of American players based in the UK and playing their Club lacrosse at Hampstead, took the early part of the game by force but were pegged back goal by goal until with 30 seconds on the clock Wales turned a penalty restart into a goal with a surprise and unstoppable bounce shot from the restraining line, making the score 6-5 for Harvard. With just 25 seconds on the clock and high tension around the field, Harvard won the crucial face-off and retained possession until the final whistle despite the best efforts of Wales to recover the ball. The Men's Trophy was presented to Harvard by John Maynard, Executive Vice President of the South of England Men's Lacrosse Association. SEMLA and SCWLA would like to thank all the teams and supporters for making this year's Tournament a success and invite them back to the next London Tournament
